HOW DO I KNOW GOD IS THE ONE SPEAKING TO ME?

1. It will be spontaneous (without prior thought).
Since God dwells in you, in your heart or spirit, that is
where He will speak to you. He does not communicate
directly with your mind because He's not in your mind; He's in your spirit.

2. It will be mighty in your heart, so you can't resist it.
(Trying to ignore makes you restless or lose your peace of mind)

3. And it will come continuously, though gentle but persuasive. In the Old Testament days, messages from the LORD were sporadic, and dreams, prophetic messages, and
visions were relatively uncommon. There was a scarcity of Revelations from the Lord.

"In those days, the word of the LORD was rare; there
were not many visions.”
1 Samuel 3:1.

People could wait until a Prophet hears from God so he can come to them and say,

"Thus says The Lord."
"Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD
who formed it to establish it—the LORD is His name,
'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.”
Jeremiah 33:2-3. (AMP)

Moses himself testified about this by saying this:

"I wish all of God's children were prophets; and that the
Lord would put His Spirit upon all"
Numbers 11:29. (NLT)

The Spirit of The Lord that lives in you is the ONLY
distinguisher of you in the New Testament era and those who lived in the Old Testament days. In your living season, you don't have to wait for a Prophet to hear from the Lord for you. All the capability of hearing God for yourself throughout your Life is bestowed on you. You are capable of hearing God by yourself.
